TIPS & INFO

Imagine throwing away your mascara and looking your best, even if you’ve just stepped out of bed, got out of the shower or climbed out of the swimming pool… this is the joy of semi-permanent eyelash extensions.

They enhance what you naturally have in the eyelash department and work with your own lash cycle; falling out with your own lashes, naturally and without damage, providing that you follow the aftercare which you will be walked through at the time of your treatment.

It isn’t rocket science, for instance, don’t pull your lashes and to extend their longevity you need to avoid oil in your beauty regime where possible.  It’s an incredibly youthful looking treatment and very relaxing to have done.

The amazing Russian Volume lashes also known as 6D add a new dimension to lashes and ensure a very soft and full look, suiting all eye and face shapes.

AFTERCARE NOTES

LASH AFTERCARE ADVICE

  • FOR THE FIRST 24-48  HOURS…DO NOT get lashes wet in order to allow glue to bond and dry thoroughly. Do not brush through with your mascara wand. AVOID hot steam from the shower or sauna.
  •  LEAVE THEM ALONE… be gentle with your new lashes. Do not rub your eyes excessively. Do not wear any conventional mascara or use eyelash curlers on your extensions. Do not wash them.
  •  AFTER 24 HOURS…AVOID OIL-BASED CLEANSERS, LOTION OR EYE MAKEUP REMOVERS. These products will dissolve the eyelash bonding agent.  Instead, use plain water or water-based gel cleansers. You may wish to use a Q-tip to gently remove eye makeup around the lash line.
  •  If you choose to use make-up with oil in it i.e.; oil based shadows or kohl pencil, these too MAY weaken the bond and shorten the life of your lashes. Oil free products and regular shadows are best.
  •  DO NOT USE WATERPROOF MASCARA. The ingredients in this type of mascara will dissolve the bonding agent and your lashes will fall. IF YOU FEEL YOU MUST WEAR MASCARA… apply only ”water-based” mascara on your lash tips, not at the base of your lashes. Application at the lash base may break the lash and/or create a clump of mascara in your lash line. Oil free mascara is available from me for £15.
  •  If you accidentally drop some powder on your lashes, simply remove with a Q-tip moistened in plain water in order for your dark lashes to reappear again.
  •  Do not be tempted to pick or pull at your lashes as you may damage your natural lashes in doing so!
  •  AVOID USING ANY EYELASH CURLERS. DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER EYE TREATMENTS SUCH AS PERMING, TINTING, TATTOOING ETC WHILST YOU HAVE YOUR LASHES ON.
  • Beware of using hairspray near your lashes.
  •  SCHEDULE AN “INFILL” PROCEDURE IN 2-3 WEEKS.  If left longer you are in danger of needing more lashes which obviously will cost you more.  Some people who are very gentle with their lashes can easily have half left after 3 weeks which are perfect for infills. If you use even the proper mascara, oily products or you have naturally very oily hair, it is more likely that you will need your infills done more regularly to achieve perfection.
  • DO shampoo your lashes with baby shampoo or proper lash cleansing product.  1-4 parts water.  Use a soft black head brush for best results. This should be done at least twice a week to keep bacteria and lash mites at bay.  You can purchase a cleaning kit from Joanna for £4.
  •  If you are not having infills they will all gradually fall out, usually completely by around 5-6 weeks, sometimes longer; it varies from person to person.
  •  Touch-ups or infills are highly recommended in order to maintain a full, lush lash line and the shorter the space in between treatments the fuller it will become.
